"The Health Care and Pension Advocates of STRS  has put together editorial response to newspapers' "Investigative Report" concerning our Defined Benefit Plan. Newspapers around the state ran the report on January 3( 2010 ).

The President’s Challenge to You !

 

         " The time for retired teacher political action is NOW ! The need is for each teacher, retired or planning to retire, to take a stand with U.S. Representatives, Senators, the Governor and Ohio General Assembly members. Each of us has a personal investment in all of the current issues of STRS, COLA, guaranteed health care funding and continued solvency of STRS. All those who presently receive and those who will receive benefits in the future from STRS of Ohio need to take action.

          So the challenge to myself and to each of you as an Ohio teacher and member of TCCORTA is to formulate your opinions on these issues and state them in letters , postcards and emails to our governing officials."
